Ross B. Smith Physiotherapist

Ross Smith has had 36 years’ experience in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy. Ross has worked with Australia’s leading athletes including the Australian Olympic Team, The Australian Woman’s Hockey team and AFL clubs.

Ross works with you to understand the cause of your injury, pain or problem. He provides treatments that are based on the most up to date evidence. As a qualified Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, Ross treats the cause of your pain, not just the effect.

Ross B. Smith Physiotherapist Biography

  • Graduated from the Lincoln Institute of Higher Education with a Graduate Diploma of Physiotherapy 1975.
  • Graduated from the Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences with a Postgraduate Diploma of Manipulative Therapy 1981.
  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from the Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences 1982.
  • Qualified as a Titled Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist 1998.
    Sports Physiotherapists and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists have undertaken specialised postgraduate study with examination and have extensive experience in both Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
  • Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation 1984.
  • Physiotherapist for Fitzroy Football Club VFL / AFL 1978-88.
  • Physiotherapist for Australian Women’s Hockey Team 1983- 2003.

Peter Eagleson Physiotherapist Biography

Peter qualified with an honours degree in physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University and has since been working in a private clinical setting.

During his graduate course he specialised in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety musculoskeletal disorders using an evidence based hands on approach.

Peter has qualifications in Pilates having completed Matwork levels 1 and 2 with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and Equipment levels 1 and 2 with DMA Clinical Pilates.

Peter has post graduate training in a variety of myofascial treatment methods with the use of the Physiotherapy Instrument for Mobilisation designed by Senior Physiotherapists Helen W. Thompson and Dr. Robert Goodrum. He adopts these techniques on a daily basis to treat conditions such as low back, thoracic, head and neck pain.

Peter’s Qualifications

Peter enjoys a variety of sports and has participated in soccer, rugby, golf, tennis and cross country. Peter also has experience working with elite athletes across soccer, rugby and hockey having worked with various teams in the U.K and Australia.


Caroline Fernando Physiotherapist Biography

Caroline Fernando is a Physiotherapist with a difference. One, she has a degree in Physiotherapy, and two she holds an Exercise Science degree.

 Before Graduating from the Latrobe University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Caroline studied Exercise Science in the USA, while representing the Arkansas State University on a tennis scholarship.  She has worked with various sporting organizations including the AFL umpires association in addition to grass roots football clubs.  Since then she has worked in various roles both in private practice and in a hospital environment, both in the UK and Australia, giving Caroline extensive experience in treating patients with both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. 

Apart from her experience in Manual Therapy and Sports Injuries, Caroline’s interests include Clinical Pilates, biomechanics and rehabilitation.  She has completed Equipment Level 1 Certificate in Pilates and Level 1 Dry Needling Certificate, and several courses on the back, knee and shoulder.

 Caroline has been involved in ironman triathlon and marathon racing, competing in the several races including the half ironman and long course world championships. 

 Caroline Fernando Qualifications

Senior Receptionist Vicki Hartley

Vicki has worked in medical practices for the last 19 years.

She worked for an obstetric and ultrasound practice in Mulgrave before joining Ross at his Physiotherapy Practice in East St. Kilda.

Vicki is now the Senior Receptionist at Ross B Smith & Associates Caulfield Physiotherapy. Vicki enjoys her position at the front desk, she loves being with people and helping them. Vicki finds it amazing what she learns just talking to people!

Receptionist Gabi Levitan

Gabi is in her third year of studying a Bachelor of Applied Sciences and a Master of Physiotherapy practice at La Trobe University, which she is thoroughly enjoying.

She is very passionate about exercise, fitness and social justice. 

Her work experience thus far has involved communications and admin/reception with other physiotherapy practices and health organisations. 

Gabi likes working for Ross B Smith and Associates Caulfield Physiotherapy because it allows her engage in a clinical physiotherapy setting, which provides her with a real life depiction of her future chosen career path.

Additionally, Gabi enjoys engaging with people and her job as a receptionist gives her an opportunity to do just that! 

Receptionist Sandra Wytwornik

Sandra has worked in Medical practices for the last fifteen years.

She has worked for General Practitioners in Camberwell and St Kilda Road Melbourne.

Prior to working as a Medical Receptionist she worked as a Kindergarten teacher for ten years.

Sandra enjoys working at the front desk she likes to communicate with people; understanding, listening and helping in any way she can.


Receptionist Lauren Pearson

Lauren is studying a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education at Deakin University. 

She has competed on the Australian ski team at World Junior Championships and currently competes at a national level in rowing.

Lauren loves the friendly environment at Ross B Smith and Associates Caulfield Physiotherapy, where she engages with patients. 

For the past 18 months Lauren has been working in reception and administration across several physiotherapy clinics in Melbourne.
